The Worldly Path
I call cards one through ten the Worldly Path because initially the soul is focused on world objects and experiences and is unconscious of its Spiritual nature. Some people refer to this phase as materialism. The focus is very much material, but it is not limited to the material realm alone. The objects and experiences the soul focuses on can be mental as well as physical, and have a strong emotional component.
During this period we could not care less about true spirituality. It is all one big party of desire and fear, of pleasure and pain, goals, rules and achievements, and imagination and creation. And much karma is created. Many, many lives, many cycles…
All that at the exclusion of inquiring into the source of all and what unites us all: Spirit. Separation is the name of the game. That begins to change when the Hermit begins to stir and do his job.
